Staying alert to what is going on around you - Stealing Children's Lives

After the school shooting this past week I was thinking about how do we stop schools with innocent children from being a target. Solutions always start in our thinking turning to God. There are sources where we can start like Christian Science Lecturers which can be found on line or you visit Wednesday evening testimony meeting at the local Christian Science Church or online which are open to the public to explain how they have used divine law in their every day life to solve a problem. We are all spiritual beings and God is working in our lives. God does protect us if we turn to him. People prove God's love and as each person proves God is a power to be reckoned when they take what they have learned from the a lecturer or testifier into their own lives. These are example oriented meetings are to meet your need in healing and learning to heal. If the testifier turns to God for healing then we have that same power.

We attended a Christian Science College Organization meeting where their speaker was a police officer who was a Christian Scientist. He explained one instance where he had read the Christian Science Lesson Sermon that morning and later in the day that an armed robbery had just taken place. He and another officer were in the patrol car at a red light when this car drove up next to them and the hairs on the back of his neck stood up. They pulled the car over and sure enough this car was the bank robbers. In another instance he was staring at gun aimed at him and knowing that God was his Life he was able to handle the situation with no insidence. He said knowing the difference of good and evil alerts you to when something is not right and that God is the only power.

Mrs. Eddy says this about practical Christian Science, "The term Science, properly understood, refers only to

the laws of God and to His government of the universe, inclusive of man. From this it follows that business men and cultured scholars have found that Christian Science enhances their endurance and mental powers, enlarges their perception of character, gives them acuteness and comprehensiveness and an ability to exceed their ordinary capacity. The human mind, imbued with this spiritual understanding, becomes more elastic, is capable of greater endurance, escapes somewhat from itself, and requires less repose. A knowledge of the Science of being develops the latent abilities and possibilities of man. It extends the atmosphere of thought, giving mortals access to broader and higher realms. It raises the thinker into his native air of insight and perspicacity." (S&H 128:4)

A Wednesday night testifier told of her home being broken into and that she was held at gun point. She was threatened that if she did not take off her clothes he would kill her. She said no, maintaining in her thought that man was satisfied with what was pleaseing to divine Mind. Fear has no power over her. Divine Mind was in control. The gun man did shoot the gun and it did not fire. He threw the gun and ran. The testifier said she called the police and the police investigated saying the gun should have gone off. The police could find nothing wrong with the gun.

So now, being alert to what is going on around us is an important aspect of our lives in living the harmony of God's divine law. God's divine law is the only law in our demonstration to see that that divine law is always in operation. So what does that have to do with school shootings. For one thing it has been like clock work when the school year begins with school shootings, beginning, middle or end of year. It is our duty to maintain in thought that divine law is in operation not only in our own thought but in those around us, in our community and in the world. Shootings are evil thinking lunacy, mental illness. Divine Mind is the one and only mind there is and maintains the harmony of our home, school and community.

I pray each day for our children that they are not contaminated by poisonous thinking through the school system and any other system. I pray that children are kept safe in divine Love in thought and deed that they can not be a victim of evil thinking that has been weaponized against each of us. A child's stolen life is stealing from me and society because God always has a plan, place and purpose for his grand design of child likeness and innocence. Our true children are what is in our thinking and it is cultivating this divine law that is in our thinking that keeps us safe through life. Divine law includes the 10 Commandments and if a person has broken one commandment that person has broken all.

Isaiah 54:13 in the Bible says, " No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord."

One last thought...

Aren't these school shooting pointing to the great need of our schools to teach divine law of the 10 Commandments. "Thou shalt not kill" or "Thou shalt not steal" is a divine law and must be obeyed! Children must be taught the moral law of obedience and respect for his neighbor and friends.

Mrs. Eddy says this in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, "The entire education of children should be such as to form habits of obedience to the moral and spiritual law, with which the child can meet and master the belief in so- called physical laws, a belief which breeds disease." (S&H 62:4)
