Suzy Bogguss & Kathy Mattea - Teach Your Children
This was in an email sent to me and I found it brought back memories of the 1960's where truth and virtue were still much a part of the every day family. The family I grew up in loved the Bible and we attended church every Sunday. We were taught the Golden Rule, "Do unto others as we would have them do unto us". Mrs. Eddy included this in the Christian Science Tenets - "And we solemnly promise to watch, and pray for
that Mind to be in us which was also in Christ Jesus; to do unto others as we would have them do unto us; and
to be merciful, just, and pure." S&H 497:24
Just walking down memory lane and loving the thought about how to train up a child with divine laws of Christ Jesus. Your thoughts are your children and you pass those loving thought on to those who need healing. you don't need to know the mortal but always bless with the immortal thoughts of Love.
Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young are the authors of this song from the 1960's.
Lyrics below:
You, who are on the road, must have a code that you can live by.
And so become yourself because the past is just a goodbye.
Teach your children well, their father's hell did slowly go by,
and feed them on your dreams, the one's they fix, the one's you'll know by.
Don't you ever ask them why, if they told you, you would cry,
so just look at them and sigh and know they love you.
And you, of tender years, can't know the fears that your elders grew by,
and so please help them with your youth, they seek the truth before they can die.
Teach your parents well, their children's hell will slowly go by,
and feed them on your dreams, the one's they fix, the one's you'll know by.
Don't you ever ask them why, if they told you, you would cry,
so just look at them and sigh and know they love you.
